The Fall/Winter of 2010 has been a time of positive changes and a lot of re-organization with the Natalie Paige Bentley entities &amp; the band, Trillium Vein. The past year has been exciting and I feel extremely fortunate and so very thankful for the amazing opportunities that have been presented the past few months. Stay tuned for the launch of some very special projects and strategic partnerships with industry creative and label veterans (currently being negotiated). Matteo Mobile [director/dop Smoke &amp; Mirrors] asked me to take part in an amazing book he will be launching &amp; publishing called <a href="http://www.matteomobile.com/matteomobile/project_eleven.html" target="_new">Project Eleven. Matteo has chosen eleven people who have inspired, influenced or impressed his life. In turn those people that are nominated will nominate individuals who have done the same in their lives creating a family tree effect for the book and so on. I was among his eleven, which I am overwhelmed with so much gratitude. Matteo &amp; I met when we were just little kids growing up in Malvern. If you grew up in Malvern when we did then you probably have a little insight as to where I&rsquo;m coming from with this. My life, when I've least expected it, has always thrown curveballs and I'm astonished by how people you may know in a certain aspect of your life sometimes come back in, in ways that are so very unexpected &amp; in different scenarios. I am not one to talk very openly about my personal life but I feel this warrants me doing so. Life was always been fairly tough for me especially growing up and I never felt that I had fit in or was really good, pretty, talented or a popular enough kid with a &ldquo;normal&rdquo; family. I have always felt very simple and unassuming and awkward. I looked up to Matteo growing up as he was a gifted athlete, an incredible musician, had his own band, well liked, &amp; an unbelievable photographer, yet he was always his very own person and held his own. I secretly studied what I thought the successful kids did at school [other then academics] since I was never an academic student, and I strived to have that inner strength &amp; drive. I had to work overtime in my head to force myself to make a better life and become something rather then nothing. I knew from the time I was a kid that there was nothing I wanted more then to be the artist that I continuously strive to be and had to accept the person I inherently was even if it meant I may not fit in or feel understood. When I moved back home from California and eventually reconnecting with Matteo, it was of no surprise that he had continued on just as he had done as a kid, whether it was his success as a drummer &amp; songwriter with his band Nowhere, or his professional work as an accomplished photographer and ultimately having the opportunity to co venture with him on productions as a director and director of photography along with his wife Corinne&rsquo;s amazing talents as a set designer &amp; wardrobe stylist for Trillium Vein&rsquo;s &ldquo;Smoke &amp; Mirrors&rdquo; music video. To be nominated for his book has been such an honor in more ways the I can put into words as I have had so much admiration for Matteo &amp; Corinne for opening their home up to me to help facilitate my visions as an artist and the countless support they have provided in my direction with Trillium Vein and the incredible drive he has always had to make things happen outside of the box and above all the simplicity of being a childhood friend. It has been a rarity for me to have had connections stripped of agendas &amp; someone knowing you for the person you simply are as well as being nominated for an amazing book from someone who has been just as influential in my life, again, is more then just an honor.
